Description
A dirt road, heading into an evening storm, in the middle of what felt like nowhere. The wind was blowing, I could hardly hold the camera and tripod steady, but wasn't raining yet. I was able to witness the awesome power and beauty of the thunderstorm as it moved across the horizon, Eventually the storm caught up to me, turned the road into a muddy mess, barely passable. Image taken in the Pawnee National Grasslands, in Northern Colorado, near the Pawnee Buttes.Which is located right on the Colorado, Wyoming border.

That fine line between photography and digital art is masterfully executed here and how you echoed the harsh contrast of the landscape into the sky is a challenge for any photographer. The subtle use of texture here is excellent and I think adds a lot to a already brilliant landscape. Sharing

This is such a majestic image, I don't know how else to describe it...leaves me speechless! Just wow!

I am always attracted to the majesty and dramatics of the sky. The open country and mysterious dirt road make for quite a moment. Life's storms would be so much more pleasant to weather if they all looked like this! Beautiful work Steven. (FB,L)

I like the way the dark clouds at top are balanced by the shadow at the bottom. Very nice image. L/F
