Description
Alarm went off at 1:30am. in order to make it to the trailhead, so we could hike to Long Lake (short hike) located in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Colorado usa. in time for the sunrise on the longest day of the year. But we didn't anticipate not being able to drive all the way to the trailhead, Here it is, June 23, and the gate was closed due to snow. So it added a 1 1/2 mile hike to get to the trailhead, So we had to hustle to make the sunrise, Barely made it in time. We only had minutes before the sun went into a cloud bank and the light went flat. So we did what we call, speed photography. Didn't have time to scout out a composition, so we had to work fast.

Love the way you always portray the calm and peace of the wilderness Steven. The subtle colors in the foreground off-set by the bright glow of the coming sun is gorgeous.
